You are in Meppen for the first time and you have not had breakfast yet, where will you go ...? Well, this very old Town Hall is certainly a possibility for that. A very attentive young staff member with a beard invited me and my family and despite the fact that it was quite late, we thought we could still have breakfast. Once upstairs in the restaurant (too cold to eat downstairs for the town hall) I could indeed still order breakfast from a likewise nice lady. Wash almost 12 hours. Top! Breakfast for three people was well taken care of. Tasty meats, cheese, sweets and a boiled egg. Add a pot of coffee. This is the well-known old-fashioned "German" slobber coffee. Haha, not culinary. Anyway, the price for the whole was reasonable so I got over it. The interior of the restaurant: Well, that's really a missed opportunity. Or to call it hopeless. Totally without atmosphere. I would bald everything and make it nice and rough with the atmosphere of a few hundred years ago ... wooden beams, and so on ... But yes, I am not the owner. Was a nice experience on balance.
